Essential Stages in an Interior Design Project

As I am studying Interior Design and getting near the end of the course…Module 9 of 10!  (so exciting!!)  I thought I should re-aquaint myself with the essential stages in an Interior Design Project.  After all, I will hopefully be doing some projects soon with my newly learned skills.

The first stage of an interior design project is very important and that is the design brief stage.  The design brief is a written summary of what the project will involve and what the needs and wants of the client are.  It should be clear and concise and not leave any openings for uncertainty.  This design brief should ideally be done in person during a face-to-face meeting.

يعتقد أغلبنا أن اختيار الألوان أمر سهل، فأبسط الأمور أن تسأل المستخدم ماذا يفضل من ألوان ؟ وبذلك يتم اختيار اللون الذي لا يحفز للعمل في مكتب العمل لمجرد أن المستخدم يحب هذا اللون،
‎وهذه القصة لا ينبغي أن يتبعها المصمم المحترف .
‎جميعنا يعلم أن الألوان الباردة تكون في الجزء القريب من الأزرق، والألوان الدافئة تكون في الجزء ما بين الأصفر والأحمر، نطلق عليها هذا التصنيف لأنها تشعرنا بذلك وإلا فهي ليست بالضرورة باردة ودافئة فيزيائياً؛ وذلك لأن الألوان تصور لعقولنا حالة معينة، فهي تستطيع أن تشعرنا بالإنزعاج ،والتوتر والخوف ،كما تستطيع أن تشعرنا بالفرح، والراحة، والأمان، وزيادة التركيز.
‎في النهاية تعتبر الألوان أوضح العبارات لرسالة المصمم.
‎3اعتبارات عند اختيار الألوان:
‎أولا: كم من الوقت يقضيه المستخدم في هذا الفراغ، وكم يوما ؟
‎ثانيا: ما هو نشاط هذا الفراغ؟ وما هو الشعور الذي يجب أن يشعر به المستخدم؟
‎ثالثا: هل الإضاءة طبيعية في هذا الفراغ؟ هل تستخدم أثناء النهار فقط؟ متى تأتي عليها الشمس ومن أي الزوايا؟
‎رابعا: مساحة الفراغ؟ الألوان المشرقة والفاتحة ستعطي شعوراً بزيادة الفراغ/الألوان القاتمة ستعطي شعوراً بالضيق والقصر.
‎خامسا: مع أي خامة سيستخدم اللون؟ وهل سيؤديان معاً نفس الرسالة؟
‎وبعد ذلك، ينبغي أن نعلم أن الألوان قد تعطي انطباعاً عاماً يشعره جميع البشر ويتفقون على ذلك، ولكنها أيضا تعطي انطباعاً خاصاً فإنها قد تعبر في ثقافة ما تعبيرا مغايرا لثقافة أخرى وقد يكون اللون مقدساً عند بعضهم، وقد يشكل ذكرى سيئة لدى الآخر لذلك فإن اختيار خطة لونية لا تعني ضمان شعور جميع الأفراد بنفس التأثير.

Of course, interior designers must have good taste.  That is understood.  But what should you really pay attention to when choosing an interior designer?
